Bangkok Day 3 - last day

Today is our last day at Bangkok, so is our shopping day.

We had our breakfast in the room. Sticky rice with some dried pork in banana leaf and spongy coffee cake. Both bought from Kanchanaburi.

After that we took a taxi to the Grand Palace. The palace was massive! It will take you about 1-2 hours to walk around if you have a tour guide telling you the history. Or else you can just grab the booklet at the entrance and read the history while you are exploring around. It cost 350 baht per person. No shorts or sleeveless shirt. They will ask you to hire a long skirt or shirt to wear if your clothing is not appropriate. Most important thing is becareful of your belongings and do not trust the TukTuk drivers there.

It was a super hot day, so my sister and I left early and head to the Platinum mall. Platinum mall is famous for cheap and nice clothings. Seriously a heaven for the girls!!! It's so cheap I don't know which to buy! There's 5 floors full of clothing n accessories! Clothes price start from 100baht. That's RM10/AUD3 !

In the middle of shopping time, we stopped for a munch. My sis had pork mix n rice. I had KFC. Haha just wanted to see if there's any different from KL KFC and Aus KFC.

After a few hours of shopping, we head back to Lub D backpackers to drop off our stuff then start our way to Pah Tong night market. Pah Tong night market sell mostly pirated stuff. Like fake branded goods and clothings. There's nothing interest us so we went to find something local to eat.

We found a little alley way restaurant. Don't know what is it call but I feel so Thai there haha. First time having food in such a local place. Felt exciting!

We shared omelette, pork basil rice and chicken stir fry noodle.

While we walked back to the backpackers, this man caught our attention. His knife skill of carving the soap is unbelievable. He was so fast and consistent! I stood there and stared at his art of carving for few minutes!

Can't believe is the last day of my bangkok trip because we are leaving tomorrow morning. I am definitely coming back here for another holiday!

Oh! I bought the Thai/Chinese traditional clothes too! It fits perfectly! Will wear it on 2012 Chinese New Year haha!

Night all!

Bangkok Day 2

Woke up at 7.30am this morning to catch the beautiful morning scenery at the Resort River Kwai at Kanchanaburi.

Indeed it was beautiful and breathtaking. Sorry I took the photos using iPhone for blogging day by day purpose, but no worries, I got nicer photos on my SLR camera.

This is part of the River Kwai. Nice isn't it?

Me n my sis had the complimentary breakfast at the resort then we head to the famous River Kwai bridge pier by taking the speed boat. It was fun! Saw floating restaurants and floating houses! Never seen anything like this before!

The history of that bridge is in memory of the approximately 700 servicemen of the United States of America who as prisoners of war of the Japanese during WW2 were moved to Thailand and Burma . Interned in prison camps and forced to work on the construction of Thailand-Burma railway project. In special memory of the 350 of these who perished from disease, malnutrition, overwork n physical abuse.

After that, we rest at katie's cafe. Its call Cafe de Paradiso It's a nice n friendly looking cafe that serves quality drinks.

After that we went to visit the elephants! They were so adorable! My sis n I even sat on the elephant and walk around :) it was a good experience. But I don't think I will take it again because I can't bear to see the people there hit the elephant so hard when they go the wrong path! I know the elephant probably just felt a pinch because of the thick skin, but I just can't accept it. I felt like they were tortured because of me. I also understand that they had to do that because elephant can be dangerous if they don't follow the order, so.. I don't know.. Mixed feelings.

Then we went to have lunch at a restaurant that were not serve for foreigners. I have to say the food was good and different, we totally enjoying it til I see a fly on my phad thai noodle. Hahaha

Interesting isn't it? More protein! Its quite a common thing for asian country, so I was okay about it, just that I stopped eating after that hahaha.

Then we when to a temple at Amphur Muang called Wat Phrapathom Chedi to pray. It was huge.

We head back to Bangkok at around 6pm and had our dinner at Foodland. It's a supermarket and restaurant in one place. They sell mostly international food product from western, chinese, Japanese n others.

We stopped by Pinklao for street shopping. Bought some dresses there :p cheap!!!

Then our last stop is Health Land massage place. That place look like 5 star hotel!! Had 2 hours massage for only 450baht! Okay that's super cheap n service was like top class! Unbelievable.

Now back at Lub D (means sleep well) backpackers and I'm going to have a super deep sleep!!!! Good night everyone!

Bangkok Day 1

It's 11.34pm Bangkok time now, waiting for my hair to dry so I can go to bed and sleeeeeep!

Anyway, let me tell you about what I did the first day here! This is what I had in the plane, hot dog n a cup of black tea. I like the hot dog! Buns were warm n soft and generous amount of sauces n pickled veggies!

Guess what! I just found that paper cups can really be like a cup! Okay, you can call me sua-ku or whatever you want but this is creative man! Looks dodgy but totally usable.

Finally after nearly 2 hours of flight from KL, me n my sis were finally here in Bangkok! We got our luggage and head straight to the passport counter.

I was amazed that there's air purifier on every counter! A mini one, it looks really cool.

We stopped by to get some 7-eleven buns! Tons of choices and they are delicious and cheap!!! I had the pork floss bun and mini hot dogs.

We stayed at Lub D backpackers at Silom. It was reasonable price and most importantly looks nice, clean n convenient!

They got Internet access, games and a mini bar for food n drinks too at the common area!
We got the double bed room with personal toilet & bathroom, wifi, a safe, tv and etc. It's just like hotel.

After that we went to Siam Paragon shopping mall using the Skyline train. We went there to shop and look see around :) we bought lots of toiletries at a shop call Bootes! ( a shop like pharmacy. Eg. Guardian) Everything is cheap there compare to KL n Perth :p

After that we met up with my friend Katie, she brought us to Siam@siam to dine at the roof top! The view was excellent and it was so windy today! Siam@Siam is probably a nice place to have a date or a romantic night cuz it's so beautiful..

After dinner, we hopped into katie's car and head to River Kwai at Kanchanaburi (about 1.30-2hours drive) to stay for a night so we can visit Floating Market and Tiger temple and other places tomorrow! Yay!!

Really excited for tomorrow!
Can't wait to get wifi access so I can post this up now!! XD

Ok gtg sleep now! Waking up early tomorrow! Byebye!
