Busy Week

This week must be my busiest week in November. I have no time to blog about what I've been doing at all. What I'm going to do is to write out what I did and where I went since Monday.

Monday night after work.
Very obvious, I went to the photography class. Look! I'm so cool with that huge camera.

Anyway, I was into photography (as always) but I never have the chance to properly learn it. As you know photography as a hobby does cost a bomb. So, before I buy the SLR camera, I thought it may be good to know about the SLR camera function 1st. So I did some research online on photography course and I stumbled across this website call Camera Club.
I gave Frances this 3 day course of photography as a very early christmas present. We went there together with a curious feeling because we have no idea how the class works. (it was good experience for me after attending it, hehe)
A 2 hours course for 3 days, teach you from the basic understanding of the camera, lighting techniques to Photo editing.

This is not my camera of course. I borrowed it from the photographer while practicing the aperture and stuff. It's freaking heavy!

For that 3 days course, I think it is quite enough. To me, photography is a hobby that you can explore by yourself and you can get tons of information about it through books and internet, but of course with the help from the professional, it will be a lot better.

I enjoyed the class and learned quite a bit. Sometimes I just wish that I should have studied photography course instead of graphic design course. But oh well, maybe one day, when I'm better (financially), I will buy the SLR camera myself and attend the course in Tafe.

Tuesday night

I was on late shift working my ass off. :P

Wednesday
Went to christmas presents shopping with Frances Joe and Bo Young.
then Photography class again.

I enjoy this class better than the Monday one hehe.

Thursday night
Went to visit my cousin JL and my aunt. Brought them out to Claremont to take a look at the Claremont Festival.

It was crowded as expected. Too crowded until we had no idea where to go and what's happening. Lot's of things to play for the kids though. I was hoping that I can buy some food there but there's not much.

After walking around aimlessly, so happen that time the parade started, so we just stand aside and watch. There were pretty angels, Santa Claus, and lots of different kind of people wearing pretty costumes.

Then comes the Camels...

cute lil camels walking down the street...

They were so close to me~ nice and clear~

I can see every detail of it~

and it shit right in front of me too~
Bloop bloop bloop~

Look at those freshly baked chestnuts~~~~ mmmm.....
Cover the nose all the way til the parade ends.

Since there's nothing much to do there, we left and I brought them to my favourite dessert place Azure in Mt Hawthorn for dinner.

This was my first time having dinner there and the food was pretty good.
I had the Pork belly for my main. Somehow I will order the Pork Belly dish wherever I saw it on the menu. After tasting it, I still prefer the one in King Street Cafe. Unfortunately, they have changed the menu. So that was my first and last time to have that awesome Pork belly.

For dessert, I ordered the Azure Dessert tasting plate and Tiramisu.

Unbelievably, my thin body cousin finish everything by herself. I salute to her. So thin yet can eat so much. I'm jealous. >_<

Friday Night

Went to Dragon Palace for Karaoke.
iSing. iDance. iDrink. iShout. iPlay. iTired!
Until 3am in the morning since 9pm!!! My voice is gone.

Saturday
Japanese test. As you know, the whole week I've been really busy yeah busy having fun
I now have to retest on the 5 questions that was wrong. Well, by right I'm pass, but because of that particular section that I got it all wrong, my sensei decided to let me redo that section again next week. Yeap, my result is on hold because of that -_-
Oh well, I think I had enough of Japanese language. I like to learn more but not on the Saturdays morning. I just hate the feeling that I have to go home and study every Friday night after work. It's weekend!!! Plus, I don't think I will ever use it/frequently in my life. After like maybe 5-10 years later, I probably forget everything.

So, I would like to announce that after I get my Cert II in Japanese Language, I will discontinue doing the subject. :D

What did I do on the Saturday night?
Me and my friends celebrated Christmas a month earlier!
It's a costume party as well :)

Some really dressed up for the party, some didn't really.
We had dinner together, played some games and secret santa.

The best part of the night is the FIREWORKS!
Somewhere near the house had something going on that night and they put up some beautiful fireworks! We stood outside the house and yelled Merry Christmas~~!! while the whole neighbourhood is quiet and dark.... 0_0"

Anyway this is what I wore yesterday night.

Dark Angel.

Lunch @ Shanghai Tea Garden, Northbridge

It was my off day on Wednesday last day, so is my christmas presents shopping day.
Firstly, Frances, Bo young, Joe and I went to this new place for lunch in Northbridge before we start our power christmas shopping.

This is the new restaurant that open about 5 months ago. I always pass by this place and really curious what they serve, but just never had the chance to go in and try. I like the deco and interior. As you know, Perth restaurants never really have much decoration in it, not like those busy city, most of the restaurants will have a theme when it comes to deco.

This restaurant serves Shanghainese food. Not really a lot of choices but I don't really care because the deco really making me excited!

There's this Gramophone, a lack bird cage..

Lot's of historical photos up on the wall..

Freaking HIGH chair and some other stuff.
AAAAaaaannndd it's food time.

Mustard vege with fish. (I like this the most-very clear, love the mustard vege, most importantly NOT OILY haha)

The plum-sweet & sour kind of pork ribs.

Prawn tofu. ( somehow the prawn taste off)

and everyone's favourite. The Sichuan Chilli Chicken.

Overall, I quite like this place, maybe because of the environment. But occasionally, if you are unfortunate, you will hear some China dude sitting at the corner having his tea, screaming on the phone and look really pissed off. But that's probably only for that 3 minutes. I think I can take that nonsence haha!

oh! they sell cakes too! A place good for lunch, tea time and dinner.

Dinner @ Rasa Nyonya Penang, Vic park

I went for a short photography course with Frances just now at the Cameraclub in Canning Vale.
I know, that place is a bit far, but the shop was quite huge. It's a 3 days course on how to use your camera, understanding it, lighting, and how you store your images.
I feel that is quite a good short class as photography doesn't really need a whole full time course, just to take good photos. As long as you have interest in it and practice it, you will still excel.
Anyway, today is the first class, teaching all the technical stuff. I don't have a DSLR (and the photographer forgot to lend me his camera) so basically I was just playing around Frances camera. Fortunately, I know most of the technical things already.
I'm looking forward for the 2nd class. Practicing on taking photos on different kind of lighting! Can't wait!

After the 2 hour class, Frances was feeling really hungry and she just wanna eat something anywhere that is will open at 9pm! (Usually the shops close quite early on Monday nights) and we found this place in Vic Park call Rasa Nyonya Penang.

It was spacious, clean, friendly and HALAL.
It's our first time there, so we were a bit excited to try out the Asian food they are serving.

This is the menu.
It's not much isn't it?

I had Teh tarik. It's quite nice i think. I'm not pro at tasting teh tarik, but this was not too sweet. so I guess it's good?

Frances had the Sambal belacan Fried rice.
It tasted quite good actually. Not oily at all! Usually in other restaurant, they will cook with lots of oil until shiny and of course taste better. But I rather have it less oil and still taste good.

I took a lil risk. I had the Hokkien Char.
I'm a Hokkien Mee fan. In Malaysia of course. I like my hokkien mee BLACK and with LOTSA GRAVY. So, whenever I go to any asian restaurant that have Hokkien mee, I will definitely try it and always give me dissapointing taste. Not authentic.

Same for this one. But if you don't compare it, the hokkien char here tasted quite nice. Just missing something... the Fried Pork Fat taste! If they cook it with pork fat.. mmm... i think this one will be good. Too bad! It's HALAL! Can't complain!

This place is a good find. Cheap price and good food.
I went home with a very full stomach. :) Have to work out tomorrow! >_<

Pentax Kx DSLR

Seriously. This is way too cool. Black? No more BLACK!
Colourful is the way to go man! Look at this Pentax Kx DSLR!!!

100 of them!
This latest PENTAX camera offers high-end features including Live View and HD video.
Extremely compact and lightweight PENTAX K-x forges ahead on the trail initiated by the popular PENTAX K2000. With a one-handed shooting design and simple, easy-to-use operation, the K-x is perfect for users stepping up from a point and shoot digital camera to their first digital SLR. (Ooo! Are they refering to me??)

This one is way too awesome.
  • High resolution 12.4 megapixel CMOS image sensor features sensor-shift Shake Reduction for stabilized image and video capture up to 4 stops max.
  • Large 2.7 inch LCD features Live View with contrast, phase difference, and Face Detection autofocus (up to 16 faces).
  • Widescreen HD video capture in full 720p resolution (1280x720) at 24 FPS cinematic framerate, using any PENTAX 35mm lens.
  • Creative processing and filter modes produce high quality finished images, while offering the ability to explore artistic freedom through unique special effects.
  • True High Dynamic Range (HDR) image capture blends 3 bracketed images into a single picture with outstanding shadow, highlight, and midrange detail.
  • Fast 4.7 FPS capture speed and 1/6000 second maximum shutter speeds are possible with the PENTAX PRIME II image processing engine.
  • Powerful automatic modes, including PENTAX Auto Picture and scene modes, ensure the perfect shot in any situation, while helping new photographers learn DSLR photography.
  • Responsive 11 point wide angle SAFOX VIII autofocus system focuses quickly and accurately, and can easily track moving subjects.
  • Captures up to 1900 shots with universally available, easy-to-find AA lithium batteries (also compatible with AA NiMH rechargeable and alkaline batteries).
I don't know what half of those mean but it sounded awesome too. XD

Honestly, I know nothing about Pentax camera before. I'm always a Canon fan. But after looking at this one, suddenly I felt I know alot about Pentax! haha kidding. I just like the colours of the camera + lightweight + saw a few good reviews for the camera.
I'm not a professional photographer, but I'm definitely a girl who loves taking photographs everywhere and anything possible. This one is definitely appeals to me.

Which colour are you?
