Home Parties

I find it interesting when one day my friend ask me to go to a Tupperware Party beginning of last year. You know, there's no such thing as Tupperware party in my hometown. So I have no idea what is it like! In that minute, I thought to myself, what do you actually do there in a Tupperware party? Do we bring our Tupperwares and throw at each other or show who got the most expensive ones?

To answer my curiousity, I said yes to my friend and we went together. The party was held at her friend's house, she was the host of the party. I went in and I saw lots of Tupperware displayed in the living room. Then I saw lots of finger food at the other table~ I tell you, I am excited to see the beautiful food that the host prepared than the Tupperwares. :P

Well, before we can eat anything, we were invited to sit and a lady (who is selling the Tupperware) make us comfortably seated with champers in our hands, then she will tell you all about the Tupperware. It was quite an interesting party to me because it was my first time.

Other than Tupperware party, I recently went to a Make Up Party where they teach you how to put make up on, and some skin care products. It was the Motives by Loren Ridinger.

I don't do much make up myself, or maybe not. But I like to see and learn all sorts of products they got and how to use them. A year ago, I don't even know what's the difference between a concealer and a foundation. I just thought they were the same! I bought a huge bottle of body lotion after the party and it's really good! My skin was dry because of winter season and I have tried different kind of body lotion, it's just doesn't work on my skin. But this one is really good, I can feel my skin is moistured .

The Make up Party was actually hosted by one of my workmates and look at what she prepared for us! It's so beautiful and so delicious! She got champers for us too! Yea, as usual, I ate quite a lot of them. :P

Then, 2 days ago, my friend asked me to go to this Jewelery Party/dinner at her friend's place. It was a bit last minute but I thought since I have never been to one before, I should go there to see what is it like.

Jeweleries was presented nicely on the table (yea, it wasn't in the photo cuz I mess it up abit while browsing). Jeweleries are from Emma Page, Amway. I saw some nice designs pieces and I was so tempted to get it. Fortunately, I manage to stop myself from buying more accessories because I don't really wear them. I'm not good with accessories but I wear earrings :)

It was a small party, we spent the whole night enjoying our dinner and talking all sorts of random topics.

I'm glad that I went to all these parties, because I have learnt a lot from them and buy a lot of things hehe Go and have a party like this on the weekend! It will be fun if you have all your girlies together, chit chat, eat and buy stuff together.

Parties are fun!

Tired but Satisfying

I had the most full on weekend ever.
Saturday was insanely occupied and Sunday is just crazily exhausted!
I was prepared for this to come because Joe has invited his high school mates over to have Chilli Crab for dinner.

Joe and I started cleaning the house since very early in the morning. It's unbelievable. We cleaned out every corner and every drop of dust because there will be a baby coming to visit us. We cleaned until 4pm non stop! Then we go straight into cooking!

I was stressed out because I'm cooking Sang Choi Bao. It's been a long time since I last cook this. Or maybe I should say, I have only cooked this once about 2 years ago and it was a failure.
Yeaps, I was so stress that I got a headache and I accidentally broke 2 sauce plate. I just have this problem about serving food that is not up to my expectation to my guest! I would throw away the dish if it's not good. I will rather go out and get takeaways.

So yea, I was stress. But the stress was worth it. My effort is not that bad after all. I have made quite nice Sang Choi Bao this time. Not perfect but it's ok :) Maybe more colours to the food would be great.

Joe in charge of the mains.
Chili Crab with sweet buns. Everybody love the dish! It has very nice tomato base sauce with a hint of chili. Sweet buns to go with it, is just awesome.

Here comes the dessert, Sago Pudding with Gula Malaka.
I got praise for this! I'm so happy :) Although I over boiled the sago hehehe but they love it!

Joe and I were exhausted but we still manage to watch today's episode of Masterchef.
It's 12.30am now and Joe is sleeping soundly. I'm here, blogging about my day. I think I better head to bed. Dead tired man.
Yea... you must be wondering why I still blog when I'm so tired.. because I wanna show you my pretty sago pudding! Nah.. joking.

I think you guys had a awesome weekend too? Gosh.. it's monday alreadyyyyyy.......Working on Monday should be illegal! Agree? :P

Dinner @ Tenkadori, Subiaco

I went to Tenkadori with a couple of friends to try out this place because it's newly open not long ago. Outside looking simple and clean.

Since it's a try out, we decided to have the Chef's Special $40. Gotto try everything in 1 go. Don't waste time haha! But one of my friend took the Dinner Set $35 because she got a fragile stomach.

Start with Ocha for me and beer for Joe.

Then the Chef's Specials.
Entree,
There's Fried Lotus Root, flavoured bamboo shoot, teriyaki chicken, raw fish, edamame and ume wine. I like the entree because it has everything and portion is just nice. Must try the ume wine, very refreshing and sweet. Fried lotus root is nice too.

Then comes the Spiced Chicken Wing

Yakitori

And Chicken Tofu Salad.

Everything was going well until I bite into the yakitori.
Then I felt the texture of the chicken meat is not right. Why is it so soft? Why I can't chew it?
I look at it properly and I saw pinkish meat. It's raw. I'm the only unlucky one that got the raw chicken, I should get lotto tomorrow!

I politely told the waiter about it and he came back with this!

A F-ing BIG PLATE of Fried Chicken to apologies for the raw meat that they serve to me.
Awwwwwww.. they are so nice! Free food! Normally I will feel very happy and will eat everything, but when this one came, I just think to myself, Oh no.. I'm full! But there's more to come!

Prawn Skewer with Okra.
Not impress with the frozen taste of the prawn.

Then the Main,
Inari, Squid Rings and Tempura Chicken.

This dessert, Green Tea Cake was on the house for us.

This is the $35 Dinner Set. Nearly the same but smaller portion.

Overall, Tenkadori is quite a nice place to dine in if you love Chicken. It's like the Chicken feast. For just $40, you can eat til you cant breath! Food was decent, not too bad, but not fantastic. Service was polite and attentive. If you ask me if I will go back there again, I maybe will, but will order something else that is not chicken :P

Definitely chicken overdose today. Pretty sure chicken will haunt me in my dream tonite

Do I really hate kids?

I was talking to my house mate about her plans on a course that she will be taking soon, Childcare. She loves children. Me the opposite, hates them.

I can remember really clearly when I was young, I scolded my cousin for a good 2 minutes because he dump papers into the toilet bowl. He, of course went to his mom and complained about me and his mom practically angry at me after that. Oh well, I don't really care anyway, better still, don't come and bother me haha!

Then another time, I was young, baby sitting my cousin. He is a cutey, I play with him a lot for that few days so he clings to me a lot. But once he got nightmare, bored or I walked away, he will start crying! I was so annoyed by the crying noise, I took a biscuit and put it in his mouth. He is a very good boy, he stopped crying and eats. Ah~ very good solution! But when his mom comes back from her trip, she was shock seeing him going fat! Ops!

Then my dear cousin Eileen. Oh she is my favourite. Again, very young. hehe... I used to always go to her house to overnight and play with her brother Evan. We were buddies back then haha three of us will play toys in bubble bath, lego, watch cartoons, kids talk and all sorts of things. That time Eileen was just 3 or 4 probably, she hates strangers, anybody that touch or carry her, she will just burst out and cry! Oh, horrible. One day, I decided to make her stop from crying. I told her that if she is going to continue to cry, I will ask a very fierce aunty, lock you up in a tiny lil dark round room with full of scary things inside and you won't come out until you are quiet and good. You know what? She cries even louder. Oh gowd.

Then it reminds me of something very similar that happens to me.. My brother!
My brother and I were like brothers when we were young. We played Police and Prisoner, Chef and Customer, Floor Ping Pong and argue everyday. My brother is a very smart guy, he leads, I listen. He told me a couple of times ( I don't remember why) that the top cupboard in the room is a very special place. A place full of Sesame Street characters! Elmo! Big Bird! Cookie Monster! He told me nobody knows that place except him.. I was so naive that time, I believe him and I really wanted to go in there and play with them! Then after that, he started telling me another place in the storeroom .... then another dark place.. I can't even remember what he told me already! He had a good time fooling me around that time >:)

I think I'm like that it's because of him. ahahahahah Right ko?

Dinner @ La Lola, Nedlands

Thats right people! It's La Lola~!
I saw it in the paper few weeks ago and I was dying to try this place out.
I got there about 5pm on a pouring day, but I couldn't go in til 5.30pm, the opening time.
So Joe and I waited for 30 minutes in various shops around :P wine shop.. grocery shop..

At 5.40pm, we walked back to La Lola and was shock to see there were already 4 tables filled. Wow, they are early.
Anyway, the cute Italian waiter ask if we can go to the Lounge area, so we said yes. Then he brought us to the side of the shop.... walk through this very nice looking wooden flooring at the side and then come to another room.

I was surprise there's another room though. At the front of the shop look small but there's more tables behind and it's BEAUTIFUL.

Only table for 2 in that room and it can be really crowded when it's full.
The side of the table is equipped with utencils, S&P and Extra Virgin Olive Oil :) Neat.

Joe had a glass of Red, and I the good girl had the Lemon Lime Bitters.

We had the Lamb Cutlet to share.
The Lamb was absolutely gorgeous. It's so yum I want more.
Meat was tender and juicy!

Fries of course! I love Fries! I can't live without Fries. hahahaha

It's Italian restaurant, so definitely the Pizza.
Umbria – Fior di latte (Fresh cow’s milk mozzarella), porcini mushrooms, white truffle oil

The pizza is so good. It's thin, light, beautiful truffle oil smell and so yum. I can finish the whole pizza by myself! Honestly, I never have such a thin base crust before but I wanna say this is the best crust I ever had!

Dessert. Tiramisu.
Not to my liking. It's very light, unfortunately there's no texture.

I might sound a bit hard sell hahahah but it's all honest man! Although it is pricey for food like this but you gotto try it at least once. You don't believe me? See the queue outside the shop at 6.40pm!!!

Get there at 5.30pm and you will get your seat. easy. hahaha
Yeap, No bookings.

Lunch @ Peninsula Tranby Tea Garden

I was told by Cecilia S. that Tranby Tea Garden is absolutely gorgeous place to have hi tea.
I was delighted to hear that and I went home straight and did some research on it.

ie: Where is that place!
Smarty pants me, thought that it will be easy to just follow the iphone GPS. Got the directions and off we go. I dragged Judy along with me bacause she is English! She must know all about hi tea and she can teach me everything about hi tea cuz I have never been to one. hehe
Oh, I was talking about going there using iphone GPS.. yea.. I took a couple of u turns, u turns.. and a few more u turns just to get there :P Partly my fault hahaha I didn't read the map properly and there is actually change of road that iphone didn't pick it up. Poor Judy~ she huv to be in the car, turning round and round with me.

and we finally got there!

That place was quite secluded and it is a very beautiful area... I really really love it there. Beautiful trees, sky blue water and nicely trimmed green grass~

It's just so English~

When I walked into the shop, I saw people having cakes on beautiful tiers. Just so happy to see them eating it. I was like a kid, happily sit on the chair and looking through the menu. There are quite a bit of choices on the menu and we don't know what to get! I just feel like getting everything! hahaha.. But I know I should control my weight :P

So Judy and I shared a $33 Parisian Afternoon Tea, Quiche and 2 types of tea. The Buddha's Tears and the Kenilworth Tea.
Check out the menu here. you gotto dl it.

Tea sandwiches – Smoked salmon and salmon mousse, Roast beef and horseradish, Ham and Dijon mustard, Cucumber and cream cheese. & Freshly baked scone – served with whipped cream and gourmet strawberry preserve together with a selection of French style Petit Fours and cakes, served with a pot of tea of your choice. Served on a silver three-tiered curate stand, together with fine bone china and silverware.

Everything they use is so classy. Even the teapot is so kewl!
The teacup even more kewl~ Judy showed me the bottom of the cup and she told me all about the high quality china and the differences. See the word bone china written on it? Means the cup is made using bone ash. Wow.. they are so particular with the cups. I'm impressed!

Here comes our 3 tiers full of sweetness~!

Here's the close up.

Dissapointed at the sandwiches though.. the bread wasn't soft. It feels like they made if few hours before.

Quiche - Beautiful light and fluff. I just want more after!!
Freshly baked in house served with cool crispy salad and vegetable relish. Choose from cheese and bacon or sun dried tomato and feta.

I know it didn't look like a lot, but I'm glad that we only ordered the Quiche and 1 set of Parisian Afternoon Tea. Because if we had 1 set of P A Tea each for ourselves, we would be dead full. So, to share is good, I get to try 2 dishes and I control my portion! heheeheh

Go there and have a cup tea and some cakes with the girlies on a beautiful afternoon. It will be great fun. :)
