Dinner @ Grill'd, Perth City

Hello all! I have been slack with blogging I know.. I feel bad every time i think about it but I have no choice.. !! I was busy!! Forgiveeeee meee pleaseeeeeeeee...

I have so many food places to blog about, so many cake creations and parties as well to blog about but I just didn't have time.. I wish there are 4 of me running around, so one can be blogging, second one can enjoy eating, third one make cakes and fourth one (which is the original me) can sit back and relaxxxxx... :)

Anyway, few weeks ago, I got contacted by the representative from Grill'd to inform me about a few new Grill'd opening up around the city and Scarborough Beach!

I have always looking for new places to go, and this is one of the place that I wanted to check it out. The Brookfield Place in Perth City.

Brookfield Place is a new era if business and culture in the city, where you can get gourmet lunches, New York Style Deli and Grill, coffee and of course, all the new restaurants and bars - The Heritage, Trustee, Print Hall and my favourite burger place Grill'd!

When I first got there, my friend and I were kinda surprised to see this new place! It was like.. a different part of Perth!

We had a peep at the Print Hall (it hasn't open that time)

Then we found Grill'd!

I have always loved the settings in Grill'd. It is so picnic-y! I love picnics :D

I have been to Grill'd countless times (usually the one in Mount Lawley and Claremont), and now they are opened in the city, I think I can haz burgers and the delicious chips anytime I want! :D

Here are some New Grill’d Store openings

TEFAL EASY PRESSING STEAM GENERATOR

Nuffnang was having a Product Talk Bonanza this month and one of the product was Tefal Easy Pressing Steam Generator.

I've always wanted to get one but because I don't really iron my clothes :P
So I don't have much reason to get one + the iron at home is still working fine.

Well, Nuffnang must have read my mind, by having the Product Talk, I have the opportunity to try one of these baby :D

To have a proper test out, I set up the ironing board, have my NEW Tefal Easy Pressing Steam Generator, old iron and a really crumpled shirt from Joe.

You won't believe this, as I was carrying the old iron out, the water from the iron just dripping everywhere! I think the iron is not happy with the new sexy Tefal.

Okay, this shirt is the one that I'm testing on.
I'm going to iron right side with my old iron and left side with Tefal.

My iron has the steam function too.
The ironing was alright, going up and down the shirt 5-6 times to get the part of the shirt look straight.

Testing the Tefal on the left side.

Turbo steam! Gliding on the shirt 2-3 times and pretty much done in a few second! 0_0

Let's see the difference of the 2 irons.

Can you see it?  Here, a closer look.

It is very obvious isn't it?
and the crease on sleeves and pants are more pronounced/defined than with a regular steam iron

Actually Joe was the first one to try out the new Tefal Steam Iron because he has some working shirts that are super difficult to iron. Joe is very particular with shirt being perfectly straight. Why I know that? It's because of me. Apparently I'm a lousy iron-er!

Anyway, Joe tried it on a couple of shirts that he knows it's super difficult to iron. He was amazed with the outcome! With the steam, it just glides over the shirt and don't need to put too much effort! It makes ironing feels really easy! The shirt looked new after ironing it using Tefal!

Other than the easy ironing part, the design of it is very very thoughtful. Well designed in terms of safety and conveniences.

Here are some of the thoughtful bits..

Easy ironing, the iron glides over your clothes so you don't need to put too much effort.
Vertical steaming
Large tank of water. 1.8L :D So you don't need to refill so often.

Iron lock so that it doesn't fall over when moved.
Turbo function for a rapid burst of steam.

Multiple steam and heat levels to suit different clothing types

Anti Calc Function, so you can use tap water! Saves you the major hassle of buying distilled water. Calc is collected in the boiler, prolonging the life of the steam generator. It is recommended for people who's tap water is particularly hard (Ie high calc content) use 50% tap and 50% distilled water.

Electrical Cable retractable

Auto shut-off for the forgetful types (ME!)
Quick heat up 2 mins, (ready to use by the time you prepare your ironing board and first garment)

Wire can be tucked away

"EasyCord system" manages the iron cord better so it doesn't get in the way of ironing or drag on your clothes.

Not like the old iron that I have.

Auto clean functionality
Made in France

Even Frances had a go with it too with her difficult-to-iron skirt.

She was really happy to see her skirt is finally crinkle-less!
She's totally loving it! ^_^

She said it was gliding on the skirt and didn't have to press it while ironing! Easy! :D

I'm glad that there were Joe and Frances testing it out with me! Love to hear different opinions!

There's a few things that you need to take note for this product though..

For example, it is better not to iron while everybody is sleeping.. because the steam can be quite loud especially if you use the TURBO button :P It will go PHHHHHSSSSSSSSTTTT

It is a bit bulky and a little heavy but it is expected.

Instruction manual could be more detail and of course, be careful with the steam.

Tefal Easy Pressing Steam Generator is worth getting if you iron clothes very often and for busy people. Definitely saves ironing time especially you don't have to iron the same spot over and over again and there's noneed to spray your clothes with water before ironing!
It makes ironing more fun!

If you are getting it, it is recommended to get a mesh ironing board too, otherwise the steam will gush out sideways and potentially onto your hand.

Have fun ironing! :D

Anyone stuck and don't know what to get for Christmas? How about a magical Christmas present for your love ones? :)
Koko Black has a range of beautiful Christmas Collection!! Chocolatessssss!!!! Mmm... :P~

Koko Black's Chocolate is to die for. At one stage, I had to go to Koko Black every once a week because I was kinda addicted to their chocolate! I had to stop myself from having so much chocolate!

Anyway, here are the delicious collection!

The triangular-shaped Advent Calendar contains 25 chocolate surprises including a selection of limited edition handmade Christmas chocolates - the Strawberry Pop with its sherbet fizz, the deliciously light Pineapple Pavlova and the traditional notes of the Peppermint Crackle.

Chocolates of Latitude, $46
Chocolates of Latitude celebrate the origins of flavours grown in the tropics. Smoky 66% chocolate cigars from Mexico, 38% chocolate batons from Venezuela, dark chocolate coated peaberry coffee beans from Kenya and 54% cocoa nib chips are all housed in solid oak, reminiscent of a traditional cigar box.

‘Summer Carol’ Pencil Tin, $19
Twice Koko Black Drawing Prize winner, Katja Krummel, has been commissioned to illustrate an adorable limited edition pencil tin titled ‘Summer Carol.’ Each tin contains white chocolate wands, milk chocolate baubles, a chocolate-shaped snowman, Santa and Christmas tree as well as playful dog stickers.

Koko Black Stocking, $32
Chocolate-loving children will be tempted by colourful Christmas stockings to hang from mantles and door knobs. Filled with treats such as snowmen and Santa chocolates and the Ballerina Princess and Soldier Prince, we suspect the collector stickers inside will be the favourite long after the chocolate has gone.

The magical tree features on the 9-piece, 16-piece and 25-piece gift box, on a beautiful keepsake sleeve. Gift boxes can be customised with Christmas-themed chocolates or can be filled with a loved one’s favourites from the handmade range.

Koko Black official Opening

Chocoholics rejoice! Koko Black has arrived in Perth!

The anticipation is over. Make your way over to Claremont Quarter today to enjoy a warm cup of gourmet hot chocolate or sample some of the finest chocolates Koko Black has to offer. Or perhaps you prefer to indulge in one of the 8 different sorbets they have to offer?

A viewing gallery for those interested in how Koko Black’s chocolates are made.

I had the privilege of attending today’s Media preview at their new salon and it was simply amazing. The interior design is bold yet comfortable enough for you to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon. Even in the short time I was there, there were numerous enquiries from passer-bys as to when the grand opening was. No one could wait to get their hands on what I feel is arguably the best chocolates available in Australia!

Shane Hills, The Founder of Koko black

Kim Linssen, Koko Black’s leading chocolatier and chocolate master

I had the honour of meeting some of the important members of the Koko Black Team and was fortunate enough to be given some insights into the history Koko Black, their chocolate designs, their level of dedication and most importantly how their chocolate is made!

I even had the chance to sample some of their chocolates they had to offer along the way.

In addition to an amazing selection of Belgian chocolates and truffles, Koko Black also offers high-tea for those who want something more substantial.

The Perth salon is one of the few that offers their ‘Queen of Hearts’ high tea menu. I was truly amazed at the quality of their sandwiches as well (not to mention the outstanding crème brulee tart).

Here I am with Shane Hills, founder of Koko Black and Marian Syme, their communications manager. Thanks for inviting me along! I also met Devan from Bowl of Honey!

Some of my loot from today’s media opening.

So make sure you make your way there as soon as possible! You won’t be disappointed.
